  • How to change the time and date on NEC phone systems?

    * Models: DK-616, DK824, NDK9000, XEN Alpha, XEN Axis, XEM Master, XEN IPK


    To set the Clock/Calendar from a Multiline Terminal with an LCD connected to Port 01 or 02.

    To be done from extension 100 or Port 01 or 02. To find these Ports, press Feature 4 on an idle handset.


    Press FEATURE

    Dial 9

    Dial #

    Dial current time eg: ” 0 3 2 9 “

    Note: If only setting the time, Press FEATURE after making the changes

    Press RECALL to toggle AM/PM

    Press HOLD to advance to the calendar

    Press RECALL to select the day of the week

    Press # to move the cursor to the day of month setting

    Enter the day by using the dial pad

    Press RECALL to select the month

    Press # to move cursor to the year setting

    Enter the year by using the dial pad (only the last two digits are entered)

    Press FEATURE

    To set the Clock/Calendar from a Multiline Terminal with an LCD:


    Press SPEAKER

    Dial 7 2 8

    Dial two digits for the hour in 24HR format eg: ” 1 5 ” for 3PM

    Dial two digits for the minute eg ” 2 9 “

    Phone will BEEP once

    Press SPEAKER

  • How do I change the name on my NEC phone?

    To set the name that appears on a multiline terminal with LCD display:


    Press SPEAKER

    Dial 7 0 0

    Dial the extension number of the phone you want to change the name on eg 1 1 0

    Enter name from the keypad (The same way you did when texting before smart phones. For lowercase and numbers, just keep pressing to cycle characters. To move the cursor press #. To insert space press ## and for backspace use “FEATURE” button)

    Press HOLD

    Press SPEAKER

  • Why doesn’t my NEC phone ring?

    One of the causes, appart from the ringer volume being set too low, is that “Headset Ring” has been enabled. To disable Headset Ring:


    Press Menu

    Select (3) Settings

    Select (4) Headset

    Select OK

    Select Exit.
